Creative tools: Hook

Hook techniques are predifined to lead to good quality results, although the outcome is not that certain. The most notable techniques are developed by G.Altshuller and his team as Theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ).

You should choose right place(s), right bite(s), right depth(s) and only than you have (with a bit of luck) good probability to get your fish. The methods are the most scientific(like) but their applicability to a wide range of inventive problems is debatable. The best results would require extensive training and experience of the solver on one side and (clear) contradiction in the formulation of the problem on the other side.
